I want to ride my bicylce, I want to ride my bike…

Whether your first bike was like one of these:

Or one of these:There is something about a bike that really makes one happy.

I like to ride my bike, feeling the wind in my hair, and to go down hills fast, and to ride through the forest, and to look at the trees, and flowers.

I enjoy watching people racing on their road bikes.

Riding bikes has been a favorite past time for ages.

Can you imagine riding one of these:

Do you remember your first bike?

Do you ride a bike now?

#1 was an orange tricycle, then a pink bike, quite normal, then I vaguely remember something blue (but unsure if I ever had a blue bike oO), then one in purple and white. I had the last one for like 18 years (really!), but it “died” a few weeks ago – irrepairable damage on the brakes. Now I got a solid black one, I hope I’ll have it at least as long as the last one ;)
*sigh* the first bike and the ones that followed… first, the pride when you got rid of the training wheels, then the freedom to see friends living a bit further away, later the possibility to meet in the park and just ride your bike a little, then a good alternative to the school bus (a quiet, peaceful ride vs a loud, noisy trip in a crammed bus? I think we’d all choose the same ;) )… And now, it’s a replacement for a car – and a timesaver from time to time. I live in a small town, the most important places are about 5 to 10 mins away (on foot), but… well… better take a bike when late ;)

It was my big sister’s hand-me-down red tricycle. We had a small backyard, with a small cement area, where I would ride the tricycle, in a circle. One wheel would slide off after every couple of laps, so I’d get off the trike, put the wheel back on, and continue riding until it fell off again. lol

Sounds kind of sad to share this story as an adult, but it’s actually a happy childhood memory for me. ;-)

Oh, I really love my bike and couldn’t live without it. It’s just like special made for me and so perfectly fitting that I could even sleep on it while cycling.
It’s a Koga Myata and mixture between racing bike and touring bike.
When I had to decide between my car or my bike I’d take my bike…! :-)

Lessandra, I had a bike I loved that much in the States, it was a wonderful bike and I used to do bike tours on it. (50 and 100 mile things) and I was on it as often as I could be.
