Okay, I know the title of this blog is “happily”kim, but I have to go a bit postal here.
This man, the lieutenent governor of South Carolina, said in a town hall meeting:
“My grandmother was not a highly educated woman, but she told me as a small child to quit feeding stray animals,” Bauer said during a town hall meeting. “You know why? Because they breed. You’re facilitating the problem if you give an animal or a person ample food supply. They will reproduce, especially ones that don’t… think too much further than that. And so what you’ve got to do is you’ve got to curtail that type of behavior. They don’t know any better.”
I haven’t posted in about two weeks. I have been working a lot and traveling a lot (commuting to work with slow snowy conditions with train delays and bus delays). I have to admit, I am really really ready for spring. I know I have been wanting a snowy winter for the past few years and I really got one this year. But I am tired of the slush and ice and I miss warm!
I am still madly in love with my Cafissimo capsule coffee/espresso machine from Tchibo. And check out two of the new colors they came out with this month!
These machines really do make an incredible cup of coffee or gorgeous latte. The steam nozzle is really powerful. It makes rich milk foam very quickly. And it has a self cleaning function. This machine is virtually all self cleaning and you can make a cup of coffee in almost seconds. LOVE!
Another love that I discovered in the past month or so:
The new NeoBio skin care line.
I particularly like the Cotton Bloom series. The cleansing milk, toner, day moisturizer and night creme. This is especially for sensitive skin. I have been using it for about 6 weeks or longer. And I am impressed.
I am not sure if this is available in the USA. I have found a link in English and think it may be, but the link is very slow to respond. I will update this later with information.

The prices in Germany run from about 8 euro to 12 euro for each product, but the prices in the USA are from 17 dollars to 38 dollars. I do think it is worth it, though.
On the movie front, we went to see Avatar in 3D. VERY COOL.
A real experience. I highly recommend seeing this in 3D.
So here we are, early January. I have Christmas money and December earnings burning a hole in my pocket. I said I would get a cool gadget or gizmo in January. Here are the things that I am/was considering:
Ninedo Wii and Wii fit and all that stuff:
This I believe would be a very good choice. First the Wii Sports would just be fun. Being able to play tennis, golf, baseball or box (and one other sport I am forgetting) in the middle of winter in your living room just sounds like a good time.
And the Wii Fitness Plus seems like a very healthy addition to get. Yoga, dancing and fitness and strength training that tracks progress. I figured this would be an alternative to getting a health club membership. And get my butt back into shape.
Gadget number 2 on this list:
The Amazon Kindle!
Here is the commercial for it…so freaking cool!
At first, I was resistant to go digital with books. Because I love real books. But this is cost effective, and saves trees.
Gadget number three:
The iPodTouch. Basically an iPhone with the phone part.
This is just the gaming aspect. But I like the idea of this. Plus, I could get the Kindle application and read books on this, but the screen is a bit small.
Internet access, music and video, games. The ultimate gadget for commuting. I have to say, that I have had my iPod nano for over two years now and I love this thing SO much. I use it every day and this is one gadget that has made the biggest impact on my way of life.
NOW, there is this tech rumor going around, that most likely is true. Apple is getting ready to release something most likely named the iSlate. This will be possibly a thin 10 inch screen. Something about the size of the Kindle. It will have wireless capabilities and be something like a cross between an iPod Touch and a macbook. It will have a virtual keyboard and touch screen. And cost something like 500 or 700. OMG, this would be amazing. Rumor has it that it will be the fall of the Kindle. But one will be able to use it like a Kindle as well.
